Tip 1: Decide the mount first. Inside mount looks neat. It sits within the window recess. But it always leaves slim side gaps for the mechanism. Outside mount sits on the wall and overlaps the opening. For true blackout, outside mount wins every time.
Tip 2: Measure for overlap. The fabric should extend past the recess on both sides. Short blinds are the most common cause of edge leaks. We measure every window free, so this never happens to our customers.
